This Privacy Policy describes how Firooze ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account information: email address (used for sign-in via one-time code)
• Profile information: nickname, birthdate, gender, gender preference, location (city/province), height, weight, education, occupation, religion, languages, lifestyle preferences (smoking, exercise, diet, drinking), relationship goals, prompt answers, free-text bio
• Photos: public profile photos (up to 3) and private photos (up to 6, only visible after mutual consent)
• Messages: content of messages you send to other users
• Compatibility answers: responses to optional psychology questions used for matching

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Location data: approximate GPS coordinates (used only for distance calculation between users)
• Device identifiers: push notification tokens; anonymous identifiers from RevenueCat for in-app purchases
• Usage data: swipes, matches, message activity (used to enforce daily limits and improve matching)

2. How We Use Information

• To provide the core matching and messaging features of the App
• To compute distance between users for proximity-based discovery
• To verify photo authenticity (using AWS Rekognition for face matching)
• To moderate content (using AWS Rekognition to detect prohibited imagery)
• To process in-app purchases (via Apple App Store and RevenueCat)
• To send you notifications about matches, messages, and account activity
• To enforce our Community Guidelines and respond to reports
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and harm to other users

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

3.1 With other users

Profile information you mark public (nickname, photos, age, location at city level, prompts, bio) is visible to other users you may match with. Private photos are only shared after mutual consent. Your exact GPS coordinates are never shared with other users — only the calculated distance.

3.2 With service providers

We share data with vendors who process information on our behalf:

• Supabase: database and photo storage
• Render: backend API hosting
• RevenueCat: in-app purchase receipt validation
• AWS: photo moderation and verification (AWS Rekognition)
• Resend: transactional email delivery (sign-in codes)
• Apple Push Notification Service: push notifications

3.3 For legal reasons

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Firooze, our users, or others.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile data, photos, and messages within 30 days, except where we are required to retain information for legal, regulatory, or fraud-prevention purposes.

5. Your Rights

• Access and update: you can view and edit most of your profile information directly in the App
• Pause: you can pause your account from Settings; your profile is hidden from discovery and you stop appearing in others' decks
• Delete: you can permanently delete your account from Settings; all associated data is removed within 30 days
• Block and report: you can block any user and report content that violates our Community Guidelines

6. Children's Privacy

Firooze is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has registered an account, please contact us immediately at mehrjoo.mahmoud@gmail.com and we will delete the account.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted transmission (HTTPS), encrypted storage at rest (Supabase + AWS), and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Users

Firooze is operated from the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
